“I went to the woods because I wished to live deliberately…” So said famed Transcendentalist Henry David Thoreau in his iconic book, Walden; or, Life in the Woods. Thoreau spent over two years living alone near Walden Pond in Concord, Massachusetts. Published in 1854, this book captures his reflections on the spiritual and philosophical lessons he learned from closely observing nature.
